This
is a variation of the White Mounth route. Starting again at Auchallater
and summiting Carn an t-Sagairt Mor (1047m), instead of heading north east
towards Lochnagar it goes south east to go over Cairn Bannoch (1012m) and Broad
Cairn (998m). From here it heads to the bealach above Loch Muick, and then turns south towards Bachnagairn and Glen
Moulzie. This airy and scenic section goes alongside the river South Esk and
its beautiful slabby waterfalls, where peregrine falcons, golden eagles and red
deer are often seen. The walk finishes at the Glen Doll car park.
